      Hi, hope you are well.

After watching you explain the shortcode wrapper for three times I still have no idea what the shortcode wrapper does or why it's used... It would be nice if you, or anybody, could provide a clear example 😉

      Thanks in advance

      Morad

      Hi Morad,

The Shortcode Wrapper element is mostly used on membership sites as it can be used to literally wrap other content. For example, if you wanted to restrict some of your content to a specific user group on your site, you would add the appropriate shortcode to the Shortcode Wrapper element, then move the content that you want to restrict inside the Shortcode Wrapper element.

Unless you are creating a membership site, it's unlikely that you'd ever need to use the Shortcode Wrapper element; you'd need to use the Shortcode element instead if you wanted to add a shortcode.

      Does this help?

      Hi Soph,

Thanks for getting back to me and sorry for the delay.

Nope, it doesn't 😀 -> I mean I know what the shortcode element does, I use it frequently. I need examples to see what the shortcode wrapper does. I might end up making a membership website so I would like to know what the oxygen builder element does. I'm gonna try and look examples up elsewhere, since none are provided in the course.

      Kind regards

      Morad

      Hi Morad,

      >> I need examples to see what the shortcode wrapper does

It adds a shortcode around other elements. So if you have a shortcode like this in the Shortcode wrapper:

      [pms-restrict subscription_plans=”9,10″][/pms-restrict]

And then you drag elements inside it (such as premium content), then users that are logged into your site and are membership level 9 or 10 will be able to see the content. If they aren't that level then they won't see anything.

You could go further and add another Shortcode Wrapper that has a shortcode from your chosen membership plugin that only shows content to users that have a free plan. You can then drag an element inside that Shortcode Wrapper that says something like "This content is for Gold members only", and then add a signup form.

That's about the best example I can give.

      Hey Morad,

Another exmaple of the shortcode wrapper is the CSS Device Mockup - https://permaslug.com/device-mockups-in-oxygen-builder/

Shortcode wrappers allow you to modify the way that something gets output

        Hi Taylor, great!

-> Thanks for the real life scenario in where it's used 😉

        I appreciate it!
